All about Shelldon
Yellow toes!
Yellow-foot tortoises have bright yellow scales on their feet and face. That is how they got their name!
Rainforest home
They live in steamy rainforests in South America. They love puddles, leaves, and warm rainy days.
Picky snackers
Shelldon eats flowers, fruit, leaves, and sometimes mushrooms. Hibiscus and dandelions are his favorite!
Shell = home
His shell is part of his body. It grows with him, just like your fingernails. It even has feelings!
Slow and steady
Tortoises walk slowly, but they can climb little logs and dig cozy hiding spots in the dirt.
Super old!
Yellow-foots can live 50 to 90 years. Shelldon might know your grandkids one day!
